Method of Statement

  1. Objective:-
  2. The purpose of this method statement is to define the procedure to be adopted for the installation of Joinery Works and its related activities in accordance with the requirement specified in the relevant specifications, procedures and drawings.

  3. Interest:-
  4. This procedure describes the installation methodology of works in accordance to the Project Specifications.

  5. Duties:-
  6. Project Manager

    1. The day to day operation, decision making and execution of the work shall be directly by the Project Manager. The Project Manager shall be directly responsible to the Company management for the due and proper execution of the Project and shall supervise, coordinate, manage and direct the Project accordingly. The Project Manager will determine engineering personnel requirements for the Project but subject to the overall principles agreed by the Company Management.

    2. The Project Manager Shall represents the M/s. Germin on the Project and the Contract.

    3. Ensuring that financial and contractual matters are being resolved in a proper manner.

    4. Verify the construction schedule, highlight the critical activities, and ensure that the dates et for each Project will be met by monitoring the overall progress and eliminating major delay factors.

    5. Monitoring the performance of the engineering staff on Site.

    6. Follow up the production of monthly payment certificates and cash flow control on the Project to maintain the targeted margins.


    Site Engineer

    1. Receiving the day to day schedule of the construction activities and executing the same in a timely and quality manner.

    2. Issuing the required day to day instructions and work order to the Site Forman and Group Leaders, and ensuring that the same is executed properly.

    3. Submitting the required materials submittals, shop drawings, inspection request, progress reports, daily reports and preparing the monthly valuation.

    4. Supervising the work executed and ensuring achieving the required quality to the Project specifications.

    5. Coordinating the sequence of work activities and coordinating with the different trades and Sub-Contractors.

    6. Certifying the Suppliers and Sub-Contractors progress payment and invoices.


    QA/QC Representative

    1. Ensure the quality system on Site is maintained.

    2. Inspect and insure that all delivered materials and equipments on the Site are quality controlled and are to the Project specification and requirements.

    3. Witness and sign all test forms as part of the system start up and commissioning.

    4. Investigation into the cause of non-conformities in relation to the Project quality plan.

    5. Review the quality and standard of workmanship and materials.

    6. Insure that the corrective action is taken and that it is affective.

    7. Reporting to the Main Contractor Manager.


    Forman

    The Forman will be responsible for managing a team of skilled Carpenters and Helpers. His duties will be:

    1. Ensuring materials and workmanship is undertaken to the set standard.

    2. Effective organizing the team of workforce consist of skilled Carpenters and Helpers to meet set assignments of works in the set duration.

    3. Plan ahead of lime for labor requirements and materials and report to the Engineer.


    Design Draftsman

    The Design Draftsman will be responsible towards the design draft section head. The duties of the Design Draftsman are as follows:

    1. Produce shop drawings from design drawings.

    2. Review and check information as shop drawings for errors.

    3. Obtain the Project Engineering Manager approval on drawings to be issued.

    4. After drawings as and when required to reflect the changes on the design.

    5. Ensure each change to the drawings is noted in brief and the version number is altered accordingly.

    6. Issue drawings in line with the shop drawing programme.

    7. Produce A-Built drawings from corrected workshop drawings.


    Store Controller

    1. Update the documents and verify the items packing list for any shortage.

    2. To ensure the proper storage as per Site requirements.

    3. Verify all documents are forwarded with the item as per the requirement of purchase order.


  7. Safety:-

    1. To provide all the required protection tools to ensure the safety of the personnel on the job Site such as:

    2. To ensure that the usage of cranes and lifting items is done according to the safety requirements and these operations should be done by qualified Riggers and certified operations also the lifting devices should be certified.
    3. Work Site shall be kept clean and tidy.

  9. General

    1. To ensure a safe, clean and secured storage for the joinery materials in the Site before installation.

    2. Covering material by proper sheets to maintain material properties without change.

    3. Inspection for the incoming materials from damage or defects before installation.

    4. To provide the approved shop drawings on Site and Work accordingly.

    5. Safety inspection for the work area should be done prior to installation.


    Joinery items Fabrication

    1. Fabrication of all joinery works including tea bench, benches, bin and cutely unit, survey, illuminated walls, staff dinning unit, counters, prayer room shoe rocks, and vanity units, all in accordance to the approved shop drawings and materials submittal.

    2. Comply with the specification requirement for materials thickness, joint and corners details, and details of fixing the different parts.


    Joinery Installation Procedure

    1. Install required supports.

    2. Installation of different fabricated joinery items in position with approved fixing details and screw.

    3. Apply approved painting for edges where needed.

    4. Fixing of hinges, handles, mirrors, and other accessories.


    Hand Over Procedure

    1. Request for Main Contractor QA/QC Inspection.

    2. Submit materials installed for Consultant Inspection.

    3. Attend for any comments and rectify as needed.

    4. Re-submit for final inspection.
